Here is the complete owners manual to Sears Kenmore's second generation of automatic washers which were produced by Whirlpool. The manual covers both models available from 1950 through 1952, the "Deluxe" model and the "Standard" model. The Deluxe model was Kenmore's first automatic washer with a suspension system which means no bolting down was necessary and had a suds-saver system. The Standard model was similar to Kenmore's original 1947 bolt-down style washer, but with the suds-saver system removed and bolting down was required.

Here is the complete owners manual and operating instructions that was packed in Frigidaire's very first automatic washer, model WJ-60 and WJ-60A. The machine was designed in the 1930s and test and refined during WWII. Production began after the war ended as raw materials became available again.

This is GM Frigidaire history at its finest. Here is the full brochure handed out in stores in 1947 to show off General Motors entry into the automatic washer field. Large format 8.5 x 11" and has beautiful illustrations as well as full details on every aspect of their new automatic washer. This machine, like GE's first automatic washer spun at 1140rpm, so fast in fact that no top loading automatic washer has yet to beat this spin speed. While many changes happened over the years, the up and down pulsator style agitation of this machines is considered by some to be the best ever produced. Today we only know of one actual surviving 1947 model with all of it's original parts.

Here is an interesting set of instructions. Many of us have seen the advertisements showing how Kelvinator automatic washers with "Centric" action dashers are so gentle that a napkin thrown into the wash will come out clean but intact.
