Hoover Concept One and Concept Two Vacuum Cleaner Service Instructions
These service instructions take you through complete disassembly of the cleaner, including the motor for both power drive and non-power drive models. If you are looking to keep your Concept in top-shape, or specifically fix something that's broken, these are a must! While not as easy to service as a basic Convertible; the Concept really isn't too bad to work on, these instructions will surely help the novice. Aligning with its 70th anniversary, in 1978 Hoover introduced the Concept One into their product-line, replacing the 15-year old Dial-A-Matic as the new 'A-Line' of cleaners. Hoover went back to the dirty-air design, and built, arguably, one of the best carpet-cleaning vacuum cleaners ever made. The Concept one came in both self-propelled and non-self propelled models. The Quadraflex Agitator was introduced with the Concept, and the cord-winder came back to an upright after a brief appearance on a Convertible in the early 70s. A few years later, Hoover added a 'Dustbuster' type vacuum to the front of Concept, and the Concept Two was born; also in self-propelled and non-self propelled models. The Concept had a run of about 16 years, give or take - ending as the 'PowerMax' (PowerMax service instructions are not specifically included within these particular service instructions, but the PowerMax is very similar to the Concept in most ways).

Hoover Portable and Slimline Vacuum Cleaner Service Instructions
Introduced in 1963, the Portable and Slimline machines were the first new "canister" style cleaners to be introduced in nearly 10 years. The Portable and Slimline cleaners are very similar machines in many ways, using the same motor. The motor is also essentially the same as the motor in a Dial-A-Matic, however the Portable and Slimline have a third fan in place of the belt-pulley. The Portable carried all of its attachments, and the Slimline was often advertised as one of Hoover's least-expensive cleaners. These service instructions cover motor removal and disassembly, as well as replacing the switch and servicing the cord-reel. Hose repair and the rug/floor nozzle are also discussed. These service instructions are from the late 70's, however they retroactively apply to all models going back to 1963. Also included is a parts diagram for the model 2100, the first of the Portable cleaners.
