Automated Summary of Text on this Page:
Ghosts or Reflections-account for a multiple image on your Zenith screen. It is brought about by the rebounding of the television signal from neighboring buildings, hills, and mountains in such a manner as to cause the arrival at your antenna of the signal from two or more directions at different times. The condition may be relieved in some instances when using an outside antenna by readjustment or special installation.

Weak Signal - incurred when you are receiving on the fringe of the service area of the television station, makes itself known by the white speckled or snowy appearance of the picture. Partial blotting out may sometimes occur when the signal is extremely weak. In fringe areas use of an outside antenna is necessary, and if already in use, relocation or raising of the antenna may be advisable, as in the case of reflections, to ' increase the efficiency of the signal pick-up. (Fig. No. 14) Weak Signal

In summing up the contents of this chapter, you will have noticed in respect to the last two conditions, that a change in antenna position or location was suggested as a possible cure. If in an area, however, where there are a number of stations operating, it may be impossible to eliminate all reflections. By the same token, if your installation is located at the extreme limit of a station's range you may not be able to do much to better reception of that particular station.

Having read this far, you have probably come to the conclusion, and correctly so, that the antenna is a very important factor. As additional stations come into existence and begin operation in your area consult your authorized Zenith television technician if you begin to notice a marked indication of either weakness or reflections in reception.
